This was my submission (sold on the night!) for the exhibition “End of the Role” at Sydney’s Kind Of Gallery. Way back in 2011. I converted a 120 Holga to run 35mm, which is why the exposure was over the whole negative. I did a double exposure. I was stoked.
‘Deep Sea X New Moon’ -2012, Sydney. Kind Of Gallery exhibited the talented duo Joel & Candice Cameron, in March. I shot the exhibition HERE. The husband and wife are separate artists but found a theme that would combine. They both have impressive bodies of work behind them so I was excited to see what was to come. Joel has a very strong portfolio, having been commissioned and hired on various creative projects, and has also won a few creative competitions. He has a background in skating and has an impressive range of skateboard designs. Find Joel HERE. Candice has a background in Fine Arts and has a way with watercolours that really capture the attention. Find Candice HERE.
‘Vans Vault-Shaka Surf’-2012. I bought these in 2010 and pretty much never wore them. Rad design, plus it’s a Vault series, but guess it was an impulse thing. Selling them on ebay, for pretty much next to nothing.
‘Tony Di Spigna’-2011, Sydney. I had the privilege of meeting, photographing and hearing the world famous artist/typogapher whilst he was in Sydney on a tour. His work was exhibited at Kind Of Gallery’s “A Type of Show” exhibition, and he also held a two day workshop. Tony is one a hell of a character and is just so bloody talented at what he does. Total legend.
‘My mate Faz, again’-2012, Sydney. Relocating Kind Of Gallery to a new location, Faz had much work to do. He’s also wearing a tee from Niels ‘Shoe’ Meulman’s Upside Down “Calligraffiti” World Tour.
‘Valentines cookies’-2012, Sydney. My girlfriend made me cookies for Valentines day, and made a message with them. She forgot a full-stop after ‘saur’, so when you read it just add one there.
‘hardcore, hang-ten and lens flares’ -2010, Sydney. I Exist at a show at the Lansdowne. Pretty much all my shots were rubbish and I was super disappointed. Still, I Exist are rad.
‘before you go up’ -2012, Sydney. Slazenger Factory, Alexandria. I had a spare 10 minutes to waste so I wondered around quickly.
‘My mate Faz’ -2011, Sydney. Faz is a friend of mine. He also is a photographer, part of the brains behind Kind Of Gallery, gnarly skater and all-round rad dude.
